In 1980, when Louis A. Guarino, Jr. began working in the jewelry industry in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, his interest was sparked and 10 years later the idea to open his own store came to fruition.

Louis Anthony Jewelers was born in a 900 square foot location. Marketing and advertising responsibilities were tasked to his wife,Veronica. She created an ad campaign “Have We Met...Yet?” featuring Lou, and that slogan is still used today.

Louis Anthony Jewelers ushered in the new millennium by relocating to a space that was over twice the size of the first location and located less than a mile away. This new location allowed an expansion of both merchandise and staff, and in 2001 Lou’s sister, Andrea, joined the business as Director of Sales, firmly cementing Louis Anthony Jewelers into the category of being a family run and owned business.

Ever expanding, and with yet another addition to the showroom to accommodate a growing business, Lou and Veronica’s children joined them in the company both behind the scenes and on the sales floor. Their eldest daughter, Amie, joined her parents in 2003 as designer and store stylist; in 2009, son, Lou III, or “Geeg,” joined the family business in both the marketing and sales departments. Daughter Vanessa joined in 2012 as head of social media.
